Wisdom of Nature

What can we learn from #sunflowers 🌻 ?

Scientists have studied the behaviour of sunflowers and found that they display a behavior called heliotropism.

Baby 🌻 track the 🌞 & actually face east in the morning and follow the ☀️ throughout the day. Once they reach maturity they remain facing east, which has shown to provide them with more sun rays and warmth. In the days where there is lack of 🌞 the 🌻 turn towards each other.

Scientists did a study where they tied sunflowers up so they were unable to track or follow the sun and found those flowers had “decreased biomass and less leave area” than flowers that could move with the sun.

As 🌻reach maturity, they respond differently to the 🌞. “As overall growth slows down, the circadian ⏰ ensures that the plant reacts more strongly to light early in the morning than in the afternoon or evening, so it gradually stops moving westward during the day.”

The researchers compared mature flowers facing east with those they turned to face west, and found that the east-facing blooms attracted five times as many helpful pollinators.

That’s because the east-facing flowers heat up faster.

And, ” 🐝 like warm flowers”

Moral of the wisdom of nature:

  1. Follow the ☀️: face the light, be positive, be enlightened and be happy
  2. When you train your mind to have a strong positive foundational mindset then it becomes ingrained in you and you are still able to radiate warmth and attract positivity in your life
  3. When you don’t face the sun: and lean towards negative thinking you are not as healthy or bountiful as those that are positive.
  4. When life is tough and it seems there’s not enough “sunshine” turn towards your support system: positive family and friends that are there for you and can support you.

The wisdom behind sunflowers proves that it is so important to live life towards our natural circadian rhythm. It is so beneficial to be an early riser and early sleeper, to eat at the right times in order to have a healthy lifestyle/ mindset and mood. It also teaches us to learn how to turn to each other for support and to have a tribe that we can rely on when times get tough.
